In buying products for the i-love-ginger website and for www.gourmetlady.com, I'm always on the lookout for things my customers might enjoy. This is something of an obsession with me, and wherever I shop even on vacation, I'm checking out ginger products in other stores. Looking for good ginger products is hard work, but recently someone came to my aid. Her name is Trish, and in the gourmet food industry, she is known as The Bag Lady.
Unlike bag ladies with shabby clothes and shopping carts, Trish is stylishly dressed, thinks fast, talks fast, and calls herself a bag lady because she is an old bag. This is her description, not mine. She was a welcome visitor and one of the few manufacturer's reps that I have met, largely because of my isolated location. Trish stayed an extra night on the coast so she could visit my shop, not that this is any hardship on the beautiful Oregon coast.
Anyway, what I mean to say is .... when I told Trish about i-love-ginger.com, she latched right on to this idea. I could see the wheels turning. She's on a campaign to find new ginger products for me. And sure enough, sample boxes started arriving with handsome Larry the UPS man. Ginger wasabi beer marinade -- great stir fry sauce. Orange ginger marmalade. Ginger teriyaki sauce. Ginger currant creme scone mix. Ginger tangerine pepper jelly. All sorts of good things, so I'm in a product-sampling-mood now. And the best of these will find their way to the i-love-ginger website. Thank you, BAG LADY!
